terr.a.mar comes from the hands of Suzana Barros.
The beginning
It all began at 17, painting tiles on a summer course. The love of clay stayed, and came back, many years later, as a way to create and to stop the world for a moment.
The name
terr.a.mar gathers the initials of her three children, Tomás, António and Mafalda, and Suzana's two great loves: family and nature. The raw material comes from the earth; the inspiration, from the sea.
The process
Every piece is made by hand. Suzana starts with an idea, but it is the clay that finds the form, so no two pieces are alike. Made in Lisboa and glazed at high temperature, they take shape slowly, in their own time.
The philosophy
Pieces made to live with, not to put away. Each one carries the mark of the hands that made it and the rhythm of the nature that inspired it: one of a kind, like everything that comes from the earth and the sea.
